GVEB offers a completely new and fresh way of studying grammar and vocabulary and everything in between. It is a language workbook for curious and creative learners of English who are at least at the B1 or IELTS 5 level when they start and who would like to be a helluva lot better when they finish. If they do. It's a challenging journey.
Grammar, Vocabulary and Everything in Between
What does "and everything in between" mean? Draw a line and at one end put all the most grammar-like things such as tenses, articles and conditionals. At the other end, put the most wordy things like meanings and opposites and irregular nouns. The things that are left go somewhere along the line: prepositions and adverbs and chunks and phrasal verbs and collocations. Grammar and vocabulary are two ends of one continuum. If this makes any sense to you, keep reading. This book might be for you. It's full of tasks: tasks that make you think about language in new ways, that make you think about learning in new ways, that expand your grammar, vocabulary and everything in between. You will be constantly problem solving, working with real language to see how thousands of people before you have already used a piece of language. You do most of the tasks with several online tools, so be online! If you are creative and curious, you'll love learning language in these ways. What if you don't? That's OK. There is no one size fits all. We are all different. |
